A 3 km (2 mile) zip line adventure trail takes you to the Pino Blanco waterfall, surrounded by canyons up to 120 meters high (360 feet). The Arenal Volcano and Cerro Chato will be waiting for you.

Enjoy the only zip line tour that allows you to fly above the La Fortuna Waterfall, across a 980 meter cable (over a ½ mile!), at a spectacular height.

Canopy Tour Los Cañones offers a tour full of adrenaline within the beautiful Costa Rican rainforest, with the possibility of seeing tropical birds or howler monkeys, while you are a guest in their home. With our Canopy Tour you can be sure you’ll experience a full adventure in your Costa Rican vacation, even within the Los Lagos Hotel area.

Our Canopy Tour rig is a series of cables attached from tree to tree, on which you glide using a pulley that is secured with mountain climbing equipment. You will enjoy the tour safely, facing front as you soar through the rainforest, although we encourage people to try different positions to make the most of the experience.

The canopy route consists of 12 cables and 13 platforms, covering a full distance of 2.8 kilometers (1.7 miles), which makes this the longest and most memorable tour of its kind in the area. The cables’ lengths vary from 50 meters to 500 meters, with different heights and speeds.

A Canopy Tour through the Costa Rican tropical rainforest gives you a chance to see wild life at its best. Keep your eyes open and you may catch a glimpse of the howler monkey, sloth, coati and many exotic birds.

Once the tour is completed you will find yourself walking along a cobble-stoned path and crossing the crocodile and caiman farm, the frog farm and the butterfly garden. You can then relax in our hot or spring fresh pools, complete with water slides for no additional cost.

This Pedal Board tour will take you gliding across the calm and peaceful waters of Lake Arenal that sits at the foot of the breathtaking Arenal Volcano, just outside of La Fortuna.

As you glide across the water with precision and ease, you can use the intuitive steering system to go where you want to go and use the pedals to glide at two different speeds – step forward for a slower, easier pace or step backwards for a faster ride and harder workout.

Your professional guide will lead your group, pedalling towards the Arenal Volcano and pointing out interesting wildlife that you may find on the shore or birds flying over head. Half way through the tour, we’ll pull up on shore and take a break, having a chance to go for a swim, take photos, and enjoy some refreshments.

If you’re an adventure lover and want an adrenaline rush upon an ATV, to admire the beauties of the Arenal Volcano’s outskirts, this is the perfect tour for you.

Our adventure begins when we pick up our visitors in their hotels in a comfortable minibus and then go to our farm located next to the Arenal Volcano National Park. After receiving the safety instructions you will have what you need to start the adventure at the wheel of your ATV.

The tour will be through open fields where you will have the opportunity to warm up with the vehicle, so that you get to know it a little and finally gather the confidence to start the exciting journey through the tropical rainforest. You will never forget this experience: curves, jumps, puddles of mud and lots of adrenaline running through your body!

Along the route, you will see one of the natural wonders of Costa Rica, the majestic Arenal Volcano. We will stop at observation points where you can take amazing pictures and we will cross natural rivers where you can stop to rinse some of the mud off.

Lost Canyon Ops Center: After a fun, 25-minute ride in your Jungle Limo, you arrive to the Lost Canyon Ops Center and be greeted by the Desafio Adventure guides. After your Canyoneering 101 crash course, complete with safety instructions, demonstrations, a practice session and lots of laughs, we head to the starting point of the Lost Canyon.

Baby steps: Start off the rappelling-leg of your canyoning journey with the first waterfall referred to as the “Baby” — a small-sized 10-ft waterfall that allows you to practice and ease your way into learning the ropes – literally!

Just LET GO!: You will then hike deep into the rocky terrain of the wet and wild rainforest, surrounded by huge rocks, trees, and flowing streams. You’ll soon reach what we fondly call the “Big Boy” — the second largest waterfall. Imagine this: there you are, on a sturdy platform looking down into the depths of a massive 150-ft tropical waterfall. You’ll start off by rappelling down the rock face and about half way through you’ll hear “LET GO!” – a few moments later you’ll have experienced your first guided, adrenaline pumping free fall!

This is when you will realize that this really is an experience of a lifetime!

More than just rappelling: Canyoneering in the Lost Canyon of Costa Rica is more than just rappelling — it’s a full body work out! Use your arms, legs, and hands to climb through Mother Nature’s obstacle course! You’ll be jumping into pools, sliding down a natural water slide, sitting under waterfalls, pulling yourself up some rocks and helping yourself down others.

The waterfalls keep getting bigger and BIGGER in the Lost Canyon! As you make your way through the four rappels, you’ll notice your strength and confidence keeps getting stronger and stronger… good thing, because the waterfalls keep getting bigger and BIGGER. You will finish your adventure with a 200ft waterfall drop — rappelling part of the way and then letting go of the reins to experience another guided free fall drop! Talk about adrenaline! You’ll be wanting even more rappels at the end of this amazing adventure!

Worth the hike! As we hike back up the rainforest canyon, you’ll be invited to take your time and enjoy the serenity of the Costa Rica rainforest. It normally takes about 10 minutes, but many people take longer, stopping every so often to soak in this unique experience. At the top, change into your dry clothes and head up to the Canyon Café where there will be a well-deserved homemade lunch waiting for you!.
